Katrina began her love for jewelry as a kid. Experimenting with wire, threads, and beads. In college, a class on jewelry design introduced her to metal work which she instantly fell in love with. After college, she was given the opportunity to apprentice under Mike and has been learning from him and others ever since.

What is your favorite part about working in a jewelry design studio?

I love that no day is just like the one before. I get to use a variety of skills and have the opportunity to constantly learn. The beautiful pieces we create are the cherry on top!

What is your favorite gemstone and why?

Rubies. Practically they are very sturdy for a gemstone and I love the color, but mostly they make me think of royalty and fairy tales and that makes me smile.

What do you do in your spare time?

I love to leisurely kayak when I get the chance. I also enjoy growing plants and sometimes veggies. I love movies and exploring historical sites with family and friends.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an artist of some kind. Although I didn't know what specifically. I think had I known about this sort of job I would have picked it even as a kid.
