Repairs and Restorations

At Ponthieux’s, we understand that your jewelry represents so much more than just something to wear. It is not just a piece of metal or stone, it is a living memory that needs to be maintained so it can last for the memories to come. Our expert jewelers can repair or restore your jewelry. We do it all, but what’s the difference?

Repair

When jewelry is repaired, the original components of the piece are put back together. It may involve adding more metal, a new clasp, etc. but it is still all part of the original piece.

Restore

Restoration is needed when the condition of the piece is irreparable or the owner wants the piece to look as good as new. Replacement parts or components are required, and significantly more time is invested than a repair. The goal of all of our restorations is to return the piece to its original brilliance.
